Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Zero data collection

OpenHub was built with your privacy first. The app runs entirely on your device and does not collect, transmit, share, or sell your personal data. There are no servers of ours in the middle — nothing about you is sent to us.

What we do and don’t do

Sources you add

OpenHub is a browser and player for storage you choose to connect — cloud accounts, FTP servers, public links and local files. When you add a source:

Content and ownership

OpenHub does not host, own, or control any of the media it can browse or play. All folders, files, links and streams belong to their respective owners and to the services that host them. The app simply helps you reach content you already have the right to access — you are responsible for what you add and view, and for complying with the rights and terms that apply to it. Everything is provided as-is, with no warranty.

Open-source playback (VLC)

Video and audio playback is powered by VLCKit, the mobile media engine from the VideoLAN project — the same open-source technology behind VLC. VLCKit is free and open-source software (licensed under the LGPL/GPL). We gratefully build on the work of the VideoLAN community; all rights to VLC remain with their respective authors.

The Safe Locket

Anything you keep in the app’s private lock stays only on your device, behind your passcode. Because that passcode never leaves your device, there is no way for us to reset it or recover what’s inside if you forget it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy — for example, if an optional feature that touches the network is added — we’ll post the update here and adjust the App Store privacy labels so you stay informed.
